News about long time member.

Hello Ed,
Regarding: Frank Hildebrandt
News on my Father...February 1st, he fell at home and broke his hip.  He had hip replacement surgery and went to rehab.  A week later (February 14th), he had Congestive Heart Failure and ended up having double by-pass surgery.  He was in the hospital for several weeks, but is now back at rehab and doing well!  He is in Garden View Post-Acute Rehab, 14475 Garden View Lane, Baldwin Park, CA 91706, Room 12A.  Visitors are most welcomed any time of day or evening.
He is recovering well for an 86 year old who has had two major surgeries within weeks of one another!.  We do not yet know when he will be coming home to join us, but hopefully it is soon!  We all miss him.  I visit him everyday during lunch hour and take him his newspaper and mail.  He generally has rehab therapy in the mornings and is free in the afternoon and evenings.

Open House April 24

We will have our second Open House day at the field Saturday April 24. Our first was very well attended by members and public. We presented a very good face to the community and gained some new members. As always we encourage members to attend and be friendly and informative to our guests.

Pay close attention to all safety concerns. Watch frequency control – do NOT turn on your transmitter unless your card is the only one on your frequency! Take your card down when you are not flying. We do not have the luxury of claiming a frequency all day.

We should have a good number of trainer planes so we need introductory flight pilots and helpers. These are not “training” flights but introductory flights to give the public a taste of RC flying for a few minutes, so up to three spectators can be accommodated on each flight. Remember they tend to over-control so have your helper assist. Fly as slow as possible – remember you are flying ahead of the plane but they are flying behind it.

We look forward to another great day!
